Hi i have 2009 1.6 16v petrol tuj5p4 last week i had a leek from the upper radiator hose wich coused the stop light switch on i immediately stop within 3 seconds and turned of the engine I replaced the hose and now there's no leaks but since then the engine is overheating i suspected the thermostat was faulty so i replaced the housing unit( which includes the thermostat and sensor) but still the car is overheating the fan start working low speed at 98c and high speed at 105 which i believe is standard i haven't done a co2 in coolant check that's my next move to find out if the haedgasket is ok? Does anyone have an idea what else could be the problem? Thanks |

I don't believe i have, i bleed the air from the thermostat then top the reservoir let the engine run with the heater on then after he cooled i topped the reservoir again to the max did it a couple of times until the level hasn't changed is it a better way to bleed the air?

I don’t think one time overheating would harm the gasket. There can be air in the system or your fan is not working correctly. Please let us know about any findings.
