Could you give us an idea as to why you wish to remove it.

To replace, I have updated the SMEG to NAC along with touch screen, now doing the panoramic screen to get the themes etc.

You need to remove the lower touchscreen first.

No need to change top screen but some functions may not display mainly not seeing the full map on the top screen but the the map direction indicator will show on the upper screen. I had mine replaces a few months ago I had it replaces by the seller who also replaced the connections( don't think would work without replacing) . .one thing I have noticed is I can't seem to set the cruise control distance But will try again to set it. . . . But the advantages out way the disadvantages mainly the Auto Android & Auto Link

Don't think it will need coding. However, if the new screen comes from a car with a higher mileage than yours, the system will update to the higher mileage and cannot be reset. If the new screen is from a car with lower mileage, your higher mileage will be recorded on the new screen.

Hi, may I ask if you ever did this. I am seriously looking to do this myself - I am not yet a premier member but if you found the documents helped you?

Just curious if a left hand drive one is cheaper will this work as well or will it stay with the speed on the left hand side?

If so does it all work as expected or are there any strange bugs?

Many thanks

OK, for all you folks trying to change the top LCD - here's how to do it.
You need a set of plastic prybars, some thick card (Citroen has a special tool) and a torx screwdriver. Pop out the center top section of the surround, that's easy. Then squeeze the cardboard between the lip of the lower section on each side and pry it up, just enough to get your fingers to grip it and pull it forward. Its a b*ch but it comes out. Then take out the two torx screws for the side pieces. There are two long shiny screws holding in the display and 3 cables. Now for the tricky part. Chances are you dont have the exact same part number, so the them options don't quite work. No problem. All of the displays are the same, the boards are programmed differently. Just open up the unit. (4 screws and 6 clips) take out the 4 screws holding in the display and undo the little cable clips and put in a new display. (It isnt in the technical documentation on this site so you dont need to be a premier member and you DO NOT need to remove the lower touch screen). Hope this helps

I had a similar problem with burnt our areas on the screen, blocking my mileage, which in turn meant I could not sell the car. I saw JoePicasso instructions above, and thank you so much for this, but it was still difficult for me to do, as no videos on youtube are there to show this. I contacted a company in Leicester who claimed they could fix my screen, but then suddenly went silent as initially they were open to changing it for me as well if i took it to their workshop. This was quite disappointing and no one else wanted to change the screen or had any in stock. Most of the companies out there want you to send the screen in and will apparently "fix" it for you. Eventually I found a seller on ebay claiming to sell new screens and an amazing electronic specialist based in Dorset. He was able to take the screen out and replace it professionally within an hour. The issue I then had was the screen itself that was sold to me by a well known parts company based in China, had in fact sold me a screen where the brightness was too high and was second hand as opposed to being brand new. In the end I found another supplier selling these screens on alibaba express - who had 600 in stock and is selling new versions of this. This seemed to be the only solution. The reason why i am explaining all this is - if you go to Citroen the screens are £900 + VAT + installation cost (especially a lot for those outside warranties). Instead I bought the screen for £300, drove down to dashboard specialist who is highly recommended through his google reviews and so on, and got it all done for just under £500. Worth considering these options. The only issue is from alibaba the wait times are a month for the screen to arrive and on ebay it was 10 days. However if you buy with your credit card your protected end to end for your purchase. I hope this helps others who are lost in terms of how to get this replaced
