Hi forum friends. Citroen C4 Grand Picasso, HDI 1.6. One injector had started chuffing so I have replaced the seals on all four (3/4 had clearly leaked). Two were completely seized and after a lot of work came out with the sleeves stuck on. I also attempted to clean the intake manifold and ports as it was very clogged with soot. Put it all back together again and now it won't start. No dashboard warnings. I assume it's caused by something I have touched. I've tried pumping the fuel primer, and confirmed that each injector is clicking away as the motor is cranked. What could I try next? I did wonder if some bits of crud might have fallen in the ports and blocked open valve causing poor compression, is that likely? I'm not really familiar with working on diesels. |

There may be a screw on top of the fuel filter that needs to be undone when priming with the 'bulb' to relaese the trapped air. |

Thanks. It's running fine now Today I connected the diagnostic tool and confirmed that fuel pressure was OK, so it must have been primed already. After some more cranking it started to fire intermittently. A dose of easy-start in the intake and then some revving got it back to normal, and it has been better than ever since then. Now I will change the oil & filter as a precaution against turbo problems. |
