Hi everyone just registered and was looking to pick up a set of coilovers asap, I've got a 2009 1.6 5 door vtr+ and was wondering how low you can go with these. I've read through plenty of threads but am still unsure if I should pick up the Bilstein b14's for a 55/50 drop or kw st x/ ap's for the bigger 75/65 drop? Also was looking to upgrade my stock 17's to either 19's or 20's, Thanks for the help |

Tom (Wozza) is the man to tell you all you need to know about this. Have a look at this thread - Click Here - My car is only lowered 30mm and sits on 18 inch wheels, but I've already pulled the front number plate off on the slope to a driveway! Also I can't help thinking that 19 or 20 inch wheel on super low profile tyres would be very susceptible to rim damage the way the roads are at the moment. |

Is that on a vts model? Aren't they already factory lowered by some amount?

What's my best bet then? I would like to be as low as I can. the Bilstein B14 are on sale for £570 and the st x's are £630, or I could pick a set of ap's up for the same drop as st x's at 75/65mm for £470

As I said earlier Wozza is the expert, he had the B14s on his VTS. I found this thread with a bit more info. - Click Here - - Click Here - |

The bilsteins won't get you mega low. They aren't really meant for that. They were maxed it on the rear and about 10mm from lowest on the front. The cheaper coilovers tend to be geared more towards getting as low as possible. |

Okay thanks, anyone know about the axle weight limits? I've got an auto so I'd assume it's the more heavy of the two options? Can't find info on this anywhere
