Hi there,

I have a 1.6THP here in Singapore.

My front brake discs were changed from stock items to EBC slotted ones at 40K (slightly premature change - could have lasted till mabe 50-60k?)

Now at 90K, my EBC slotted (aft 50K is almost worn down). Time for a new set.

Now, question is, how soon should the rear brake discs be changed? The stock ones have been thru 90K and seems worn already.

Has anyone here changed the rears before and at wat mileage?

Any feedback appreciated!

Cheers!

Also, I understand that my stock rear rotors comes embedded with wheel bearings.

I have come across quotes for compatible OEM ones vs original ones for 50% of the price!

Are these OEM ones reliable?

Thanks for any feedback!

There is a very similar thread running already c4owners.org/plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?198884.0 and the Coupe/Hatch/GP all use the same running/braking systems.

Thanks Dave!

I posted here cos the GP is a bigger and heavier car, and wanting to know if GP owners wear out their rotors faster as compared to their other C4 cousins.

I have had a comment from SG owner that they have not changed their rear rotors for 175k?!

If you read this: - Click Here - it confirms the minimum disc thickness

By 'k', is it worth clarifying you mean Kilometers rather than miles as I'd be amazed if anyone could get 175,000 miles out of a set of discs!

If it's thickness is good and there's no notable corrosion there's no need to change.
