I'm trying to replace the steering rack on my 2008 C4 VTS petrol.

After looking on servicebox it needs part number 4000 ZV. I then looked at other 2005-2011 C4s on servicebox and they all have p/n 4000 ZV except for the 2.0 diesels.

Based on that I bought a used rack from a 2007 C4 1.6 HDi, it looks right but when I checked the number of turns lock to lock it is approximately 4.0 complete turns. My existing rack is more like 2.75 turns.

Is it possible that I've been sold a 2.0 HDi rack?

Do 2.0 HDis really have such a slow rack?

It seems unlikely to me but if anyone with a 2.0 diesel could count the number of turns their wheel does from one side to the other I'd appreciate it.

Actually, now I think about it, if anyone with a 2005-2011 C4 with any engine could let me know the number of turns their steering wheel does from one side to the other that would be very useful info.
