Latest review on Tates - Brighton

Not the best experience I could have wished for. Earlier this year, I looked up my local Citroen Approved Dealer online to book in for a Year 2 service on my 2017 C4 Picasso. The Citroen UK website showed that all approved dealers offer a fixed-price year 2 service (£249), with additional fixed-price items such as AdBlue top-up (£6.99). My wife couldn't make the booking via the Citroen website (as the online form just didn't work), so she called via the phone explaining that I had seen the deal online and we wanted to book in. All fine - booked in for the following week. On the day of the service, I dropped the car in just after 8am, and the woman at the desk (who incidentally referred to Renault UK times that she did Citroen, despite my correcting her), ran through the items included in the service. I mentioned that I would like to add an AdBlue top as a fixed price extra, only to be told that this was 'already included in the service'.They agreed to call me on my mobile to let me know that my car was ready (as it involved a bus journey from the other side of town to collect it), but instead they sent a text to my land line, which I didn't receive as we were not at home. I had made this clear to them. Eventually I got fed up of waiting, so at 4pm I called and was told the service was complete. So, through no fault of my own, I had to rush like crazy to make it over to Portslade before they shut up shop. The price they wanted to charge me was around the £450 mark from memory - I say 'from memory' as the woman on the desk would not let me take a copy of the receipt after I argued about the fact they were advertising a service for a fixed-price, yet they had ignored it and were over-charging me. She appeared to know nothing about the fixed-price services offered via Citroen UK when i first raised this issue. After several calls to her superior, she cut the price to £280.While the back-and-forth was taking place, I asked to see an itemised breakdown of the £450. She printed off a sheet and handed it over. The prices were ridiculous!'AdBlue top up: £60'! The optional extra that I had been assured was included in the service, had just cost me almost 10 times the advertised cost. A job that previously took me less than 5 minutes to complete with a funnel and a £4.99 bottle of Ad-blue, which I only figured I would ask for as the service was a mere £2 over the cost of the product. When I pointed it out, she stated that there must have been a mistake. I'm not so sure about that personally. Then (after talking to her superior on the phone again) she eventually got around to telling me that because I had not made the booking via the online form, the cost would not be the same as advertised on the website. This is the same Citroen website where the Tates Brighton phone number is blatantly visible alongside the offer of a fixed-price year 2 Service. To cut a longer story short, i paid up and left. Before I drove away I could see the woman who had dealt with me clearly mouthing off about me to her colleague on the forecourt, and gesturing over in the direction of my car. Shocking behaviour from the woman who believed she was working in a Renault garage throughout. On returning home, I figured I would check out the service prices on the Tates Brighton website without going via the Citroen UK site.Major Service: £299 (inc VAT) 5L AdBlue Top-up: £7.99 (inc VAT)The mind boggles.

Latest review on Bassetts - Bridgend

Bought a 2nd hand C4 Picasso here, there was a number of faults that were not picked up on their pre-sales check including faulty door handle, over tightened oil sump bolt causing a leak (service done by Bassetts Bridgend), boot rubber seal falling off, gear box needed reprogramming and lastly boot spoiler developed cracks on both sides. I would question wheather any pre-sales checks were done, they were expecting the extended warranty to pay for the repairs but they refused, tbf after a lot of back and forward they picked up the bill for the faults, all except for the tailgate cracks. I paid extra to a main dealer to avoid the risk of expensive repairs but when it came down to it all I got was excuses.

Latest review on Worleys Garage - High Wycombe

A good experience at Worleys of High Wycombe. My C4GP (2010) was purchased from Worleys in May of this year (2019) It came with a full Citroen Warranty - which proved to be useful. It started suffering from the dreaded EGS gearbox fault, intermittently displaying 'gearbox fault' and no gears able to be selected. I booked it into Worleys for diagnosis and repair - under the warranty, I hoped. They diagnosed a faulty gear selector switch unit, the one on the steering column. This was replaced at a cost of over £300, fully covered by the warranty. The service was efficient and speedy. They phoned me back with updates when they said they would and were helpful and friendly. I was initially dreading the worst but was pleasantly surprised. It makes such a change to report a positive experience with a dealer. I should add that they are no longer a Citroen dealership, but now sell Suzukis - but still offer a Citroen after sales service.

I have used for about eight years, they have looked after my 406 and now my grand picasso for five years since I bought the car. I only have praise for this company who are professional, helpful and have a vast knowledge of the cars they work on, from the moment you enter the office and explain your problem it is understood at the reception stage so you can go home in confidence the you're car is in safe hands! Also a discount is given on some parts to premier members even during a service, discounted parts are also available online or at the desk.
