For a few years I've had the engine fault message and the Service light on. When the codes have been read, there have been pages of them, so many that clearing them and trying to see what came back resulted all coming back.My local garage just couldn't find the problems.Anyway, the faults grew to emissions problems and then the risk of the particulate filter blocking, which lead to limp mode being activated. The car would not have anything to do with regenerating the DPF, even taking it on a 120 mile drive @ 2200 RPM didn't clear it.So, I did some deep research, and it turns out that it does use Eolys fluid, which surprised me, as I had read about 10 years ago, that it didn't use it. So after 133,000 miles, it had its first top up of Eolys. It still wouldn't do a forced regeneration of the DPF, and clearing codes, only worked for a few minutes.I went and bought a cheap OBD2 reader,(£5.80 from Temu) that would clear codes and drove at 2200 rpm everywhere for a few days, cleared the codes and they have not come back.Currently, I am a happy bunny!

I recently acquired a 2014 C4 Seduction (hatch). I'm trying to locate a clean 12v power supply that I can tap into in the boot. I tried the reverse lamp and the BSI complains after a few minutes with the car running. I found an unused harness below where higher trim models have a 12v accessory socket but none of the 6 pins seem to be live. Any insights or recommendations would be appreciated.

DS4 1.6 e-HDi 9HR/DV6C – rough running, much better with MAF disconnected

Hello everyone,I have a 2012 Citroën DS4 with the 1.6 e-HDi / HDi 112 hp engine, engine code 9HR / DV6C.I have been chasing an intermittent rough running issue for some time. The engine starts immediately, but especially when cold it may shake for 1–2 minutes. The main problem appears during transitions: pulling away from traffic lights, light acceleration after slowing down to 30–40 km/h, or gentle acceleration after changing gear. At steady speed the engine runs very well.I have done several checks with Diagbox and an Autel scanner. The most interesting result is this: when I disconnect the MAF / air flow sensor, the car runs almost perfectly. The hesitation and jerking almost disappear. Of course, with the MAF disconnected I get the expected MAF-related faults, such as P0102 and P0113, and the ECU goes into fallback mode with measured air flow = 0.When I reconnect the MAF, the rough running comes back.I also noticed something suspicious. The large corrugated intake hose fitted just after the MAF body moves quite easily on the MAF housing. There is no metal clamp there. I looked at pictures of a compatible VDO/Continental MAF, and the long neck where the hose fits seems completely smooth, with no groove for an O-ring.My question is:On this 1.6 e-HDi / DV6C engine, is it normal for the large intake hose after the MAF to be simply push-fitted without a clamp and without a visible O-ring? Should it move quite easily, especially when warm, or should it be tight on the MAF body? The hose seems to correspond to PSA part number 9683725080. I am wondering if the hose may be old, hardened or enlarged, allowing unmetered air after the MAF and disturbing the EGR/injection strategy.Has anyone had a similar issue on a DS4 / C4 II / Peugeot 1.6 HDi DV6C?Thank you.

Today in the south of the UK it is 36C. I was driving my 2016 C4 Grand Picasso Exclusive 1.6 HDI home when all sorts of errors came up on the dashboard. I can't remember all of them, but anti roll back, ABS, parking brake, were some of them.Is it possible that it was down to this extreme heat, and it will be OK in the cool of the day? I called my Citroen dealer who told me there was a 2 week wait for booking it in. Anyone else had this happen please?

Hi to all, here a proud car owner, haven't had issues with the car on 245000 km until a few months ago, first my front blower stopped working, resolved by fan and resistor change, but in the last month first my right rear started working worse than before until it stopped 2 weeks later and 2 days ago my left side stopped.Checked fuses (engine, cabin), replaced a 35A cartier (had it near) as a faulty one could prevent getting electricity in the back as there is no sign of life/light on back pillars and knobs do nothing. I've read that the blowers are under front seats but before venturing to opening everything I am interested if someone already have had and resolved a similar issue. My first guess was fuse, second resistors as it was never changed (19 years). Any ideas maybe?Thank you

Greetings all, a bit of an odd one:Bowling merrily along at about 60mph in my partner's C4GP yesterday and suddenly it just lost all power (no error lights). In desperation I knocked it down 2 gears and floored the accelerator and it promptly started running OK again. Then half a mile down the road did exactly the same (but fortunately we were only 200 yards from home by then)Hooked up diagbox today and there are NO ECU codes that look remotely relevant, (which in a way was a relief as I was half expecting the P0087 HPFP error). There were P2299 (brake pedal signal inconsistent with accelerator peal position) on the engine ECU which I suspect is 'historic' as it says the car was doing 16kph at the time. On the gearbox ECU there areP0925 the gear does not engage (but says the car was in neutral so not relevant)U1208 Info sent by engine ECU invalid value received - AFAIK that should trigger the ESP/ESR warning light but NOT put the engine into limp-home.On the off chance P2299 was relevant I've checked the full range of accelerator travel in diagbox and the 2 tracks seem to follow each other exactly in sync (I assume track 1 should always be double the value of track 2) and similarly both the brake pedal sensors seem to be faultless. Tracking the fuel pressure didn't show any errors either (sits on 50 bar +/- 1 bar max)I'm far from a novice mechanic but will confess to being stumped - if it was a good old-fashioned car with carbs I'd say it felt like a fuel line vapour lock (it was pretty damn' hot yesterday) but AFAIK injection systems can't suffer from that.Any and all suggestions (other than 'part-ex it quick') welcome at this point !Thanks

This is actually for information, rather than asking for advice. Our C4P needed a new clutch at 98.5k miles. The total cost at an independent garage near me, was £1914 inc. VAT. On a car that is barely worth £4.5k, that hurt.I did think about scrapping the car, but we are financially too far into it - so it had to be done.Just saying.
