Hello, I have a C4 coupe 1.6 petrol. This message came on today: " STOP Oil pressure too low". I have changed the oil sensor and checked the oil level, but it still comes on. I have been told it is likely to be the oil filter as this is a common fault if you don't use a genuine filter. I had it serviced about four months ago and didn't use a genuine filter. Please could anyone confirm this or any other suggestions, please? thanks darryl |

Hello, Darryl, and welcome to C4Owners. The immediately obvious question is why haven't you replaced the oil filter with a genuine one? How old is your C4 and what's its mileage? Are there any other symptoms, like over-heating or poor fuel consumption? Have you visited a Citroën dealer or other garage for investigation? |

Hello bigjohn and ham, thanks for your replies. bigjohn, first I didn't buy a genuine one as my father owns a car spares business so I get my parts for free. My C4 has done 24000 miles and is 3 1/2 years old there are no other symptoms. ham I've just removed the filter and it looks like the one on the left, only slightly worse, I'm going to try an original one today. |

Hello again. Changing to a genuine filter seems to have done the trick, didn't cost much either, just over £6. Thanks again both for your help. |

As Ady has asked heres the picture, on the left new genuine Citroen, on the Right, old Aftermarket filter. Spot the issue right in the middle! Ouch.![]() |
