Anyone know the specifications of the speakers fitted.

Whether they are Mid range woofers or Full range woofers or what??? and also the output 25watt or 100 watt or whatever ??

Thinking of changing mine.

From what ive seen and heard the standard set up is 6 speaker (4x doors 2x windscreen corners) and the door ones are full range but the screen is tweeters and there 35w as far as i know, more than enough in my opinion

While we're on the subject of speakers, what's the quality like (with the standard stereo)?

I like my music, and would like to think that I'm finished with changing stereos and speakers (along with finding the correct control adaptors) and would hope that a new (ish) car would have a decent setup?

Stock headunit amp is 4 x 15W RMS. And the speakers aren't much more Mine are in the attic so not entirely sure what they are rated at without going up there....which is a pain.

One the hatch / coupe.

The Fronts are 17cm speakers and a mid range woofer with a seperate tweeter up by the windscreen. The rears are 17cm woofers no tweeters in the back. And they dont sound particularly nice. However they sounded far better when I upgraded the headunit to one with better sound quality and a more powerful amp.

Thanks all,

You say the door fronts are Mid range Woofers and the rear doors are Full range.

If that is so then either they are poor quality or the head unit is, as I've heard better with the same arrangement in other cars especially the deep base without any added base on the controls.

I say this as I work for a logistics for several well known manufacturers (not Citroen) and the sound system is poor in comparing.
I'll go to some local 'In Car Entertainment' dealers and see what they say.

The standard system isn't that bad sounded better than my mates focus. But I ripped it all out as I didn't like it much either.

Hi all have read the threads about speakers, and I want to upgrage mine in my 2008 GP Exclusive. I am at a loss about which speakers to buy, however I have a budget of around £100 , any ideas what would be the best speakers to buy.
Also I would like to change the Citroen head unit for a more upmarket one, at the moment Halfords seem to have some good deals on, but what i would like to know is, if I upgrade the head unit, will it affect the menu controls that are fitted to my standard unit ?

Thanks Paul

Look at my thread in the ICE section.

Lists the speaker sizes needed, the adaptor leads you will require etc, etc.

£100 budget for the speakers, do you want to upgrade all 4 or just the front ones for you?

Loads of decent speakers around the £100 mark. Infinity, Focal, Rainbow, JL.
