As above, would love some thoughts on best way forward here - apologies in advance for long post.

In the last week or so a 'check engine' warning has intermittently flashed up so quickly you don't have time to read it. The engine light itself doesn't stay illuminated. Combined with some other odd behaviour (e.g. returned to car which was locked to find the rear rhs light on) I assumed was electrical and planned to get a diag.

Anyway before I could it totally died on the motorway. Towed to my garage which is an indy Citroen specialist. They've had a quick look, said cambelt has gone = internal engine damage and likely solution would be a new engine. They're going to have a look around and get back to me but estimated cost to be 2-3k fitted. Also mentioned I think potentially doing clutch and flywheel at same time which would be more again.

So really I want to get an idea of what I should do here. Car has done 94k, it's an EAT6 Exclusive Plus. Quick look suggests around £5k now. But it has some scrapes, and the parking sensors don't work, and the fan on one side doesn't work, so let's assume a bit less.

What would you do? I love the car, but in 5yrs it's had a lot of issues, most recently I had the dpf deleted on advice of the above garage after numerous issues just with that.

Thanks

There's no good advice, because I would have different view if I was in that situation. The way i look at it:
What can you gain if you sell it in this state
What can you get if you sell it after repair
What can you buy with 5k + what you can get out of your current car.
Depending on those answers, I would make a decision.
Belt going off means it wasn't changed on time or there was production error.
