are there any hacks to switch this off as it cannot be done on the dashboard anywhere.

You're right, there isn't a setting in the standard menus for that. Usually, you would need to use something like Diagbox or Lexia to access the deeper ECU configuration to disable the buzzer. It might be worth checking if anyone in your local area has the software to help you out.
