Started car 1 day, it fired up briefly and died. Engine would turn over but nothing. Then noticed that the dash panel would not stay on in the 1st key position. No radio, mileage, or anything, and the lights, windows etc would not work either.
Battery was quite new and shows good voltage. Tried jump starting etc but just turning over. Thought it may have been an earth problem so bought a new battery earth lead, cleaned down the earths of the car fitted it, no change.
Strangely though I got a friend to tow the car to my work and when it was moving with the ignition on in the 1st position everything worked and stayed working, dash, radio, windows, indicators etc until we stopped, then just dead again. Anyone got a clue?
