I have owned my C4 B7 1.6hdi for approx 8 months. When I first owned it I noticed the cooling fan would stay on occasionally after a drive. It happened a few times then stopped. I have never had any issues with overheating but during the summer the A/C wasn't ice cold and the fan was not starting when AC was switched on. I have recently bought an Autel OBD scanner with the intent to force a DPF regen as I was getting a warning light about particle filter risk of clogging however I was unable to force a regen because of the fault codes present, namely fan and EGR. This weekend I replaced the fan resistor pack at the top left of the fan with a new one, immediately after this the fan has been running on high speed constantly whilst driving and also for approx 10 mins after shut off which has led to the battery draining. Upon googling I found out the issue could be the coolant sensor and on monitoring it with the diagnostic tool whilst driving the coolant was never rising above 78/79. I replaced the sensor today with a new OEM one however after taking the car for a drive the fan issue is still present. I have removed the 5 amp fuse for the meantime which controls the fan however I need suggestions on what the issue is. Sorry for the long post. | ||
