Hi,

I have a 2010 C4 Picassio 180k on the clock pulled up the other day & went to put on my handbrake and the dash lit up like a christmas tree with ESP / ASR / Handbrake fault.

When I looked I could see that a handbrake cable had come out of the rear caliper but seemed otherwise ok, got it home and put the brakes into service mode using Diagbox and told it I was changeing the cables (New ones are on order so will fit when they arrive) refitted the cable to the caliper fine and did the cable tension and caliper calibration.

I cleared the fault but it keeps coming back (U1219) nothing seems to clear it, the switch doesn't work to put the handbrake on, it does nothing when pulled - when I activate the handbrake through Diag I can hear it coming on and going off and it locks the wheels but cannot activate it any other way.

I still have the faults on the dash and clearing them doesn't work so assume something else is at fault now I have put the cable back or am I missing something ?

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance

I have heard that folks have issues with aftermarket buttons on the dash or with buttons that are failing. could you try somehow another button so see if any issues with wierd connections internally inthe button somehow confusing the system?
