Weird window wipers problem.

 Hi Everybody,
I got a C4 Picasso 2.0 Petrol (2008), still going strong after 360,000km.
Anyways, I got a strange problem in the wipers. They sometime go only mid-way. I know this is a common problem, but my version is slightly stranger, because:
a. Sometimes the rear wiper begins to work as well when the front wiper start working, despite not engaging it - I didn't accidentally engage it, and it only happens randomly.
b. The front wipers sometimes go only mid-way, sometimes not, sometimes go mid-way and then get stuck mid-window, somtimes then decide to go all the way and get stuck there.
c. I see no logic in the wiper's behavior. I may have no problem for weeks, then a week with stuck wipers, then back again to normal etc. etc.
I tried changing the wipers, adjusting their position, even changing the wiper motor. Nothing changed anything in the behavior.
I am assuming an electrical fault, but I'm at loss where to look (I usually do most of the maintainance myself, including timing belt change, so I'm not a newbie - but I have no clue).

 Either BSM which is next to ECU in engine area, or wiper stalk, but I believe that BSM is your problem
