Hello,

We have a 2011 C4 VTR 1.6 HDI with a grinding manual gearbox. Our local mechanic has asked us to source a second hand gearbox which he will fit.

Searching breaker websites, ebay etc. we have found plenty of 'manual c4 gearboxes' which seem to be the correct year/type/size although I can't get anyone to confirm the part number. Descriptions are tricky too (some 5 speed some 6 speed with the same part number).

I found part number 20DP72
My mechanic referenced BVM5 and BE4R (comes up as peugeot when I searched)
A breaker has stated 053001 3 300 12A (they've said it's the correct part based on the year & spec of our car)

I've been trying to get two numbers which match to confirm that I'm ordering the correct gearbox before I commit to shipping.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thank you

1.6hdi should have only 5 speed gearbox. Same was fitted in Peugeot 307. For example like this

Checking the part number can definitely be tricky when it comes to confirming if it's original. When I was in a similar situation with a manual gearbox part, I found it useful to cross-check numbers on a few online platforms where people sell and exchange parts. One of the marketplaces I came across had a variety of listings, which made it easier to verify the part I was looking for. It might be worth checking out some of these options, like - Click Here - to compare numbers and listings. Hope that helps!
