Hello C4 owners, I am on the way for vacation. I had an fault today on the road. A message “Engine Management System Faulty” on the lcd screen and the “Service” message on the head up display appeared suddenly. I stopped slowly to check if everything was alright. The revving and the performance looked normal. Re starting the engine and unplugging the battery didn’t work. I had to move because I was at the middle of the highway without any service help. After a couple of meters, it disappeared. My car is 2006 5 doors hatch 1.6 4-speed automatic (lpg installed) My question is; is that normal or is it something that should be taken care of? I have read some topics about throttle body or acc pedal issues causing this error. My acceleration pedal is kind of “laggy” at low levels. I mean it suddenly reacts at low revs. It should be some bad potentiometer contacting problem. I will try to clean it up with a contact cleaner. Can this have a conclusion like this? Fortunately, I was not stuck at the highway. My C4 kept running without any issues. Hope everyone a good weekend. Thank in advance everyone. |

It is definitely not normal. You need proper fault scanner to see what is a issue. Without it, shot in the dark. | ||||
