Hi there,

Car Details;
-C4 II P2 Facelift 2016 BHD 120 EAT6 Confort Edition (I believe it is the "Feel" equalivent of UK editions)
-Headlights are both main and dipped 55w H7 Halogens and accompanied with LED DRLs.

Intent of the modification: Switching from dipped halogens bulbs to LED bulbs without investing/overhauling current lighting system, avoiding costs and risks.

I have been trying install after-market led bulbs into headlights. I have tried various items with various wattage(35w, 45w, 55w, 75w all with decoders), none of them worked and everytime service error popped up. However the bulbs i have tried work with VAG or Jap cars with little effort.

When i connect to car via Diagbox, i have couple of options that i can pick. I believe that if I may find out correct led bulb and lighting type setting then i will no more get canbus false errors. But I'm not sure how the system evaluates all the settings and hardware installed so i could use a help here.

I'm willing to switch the setting from "Single Filament Halogen" to "LED" and then install an after market led bulb that matches original citroen led bulb wattage.

It would be great if you could step in and fill in the blanks.

Note/Update: I have a feeling that the this subject is best fit to General Section(The Garage), Sorry for the inconvenience.

What are you using as a decoder? I think you just need a high power resistor inline (I think 6ohm 50watt, bulb wattage must be less than resistor power rating)

I don't have the specs of the decoders unfortunetaly as it is not available. They are already builtin with the bulbs with no information disclosed. They just claim result like "no canbus error", "no blinking" with %99.999 of the cars in the market .

I was not aware of this condition which needs to be met in order to get a positive from canbus pulses, so i have not tried adding resistors. Also I haven't been keen on adding 50w+ resistors hence it would add concentrated heat source around the parts that don't like heat.
I guess I will go down further with bulb wattage(20-25w) so the resistor wattage can go lower along with it.(25 Watts Bulb + 30 Watts R =~ 55 Watts).

Thanks for the input, i'll see what i can do about it and share the results.
