I will have to replace back springs, since the front is now a bit higher, which is expected because of the new suspension

I dont want to open separate topic, rather keeping this alive. July was a though month for my car. We had hale couple of times. Last happened on a highway, fortunately, glass on the car i still good, but there are couple of markings on the door, like a stone has hit the paint. Rain was so heavy that I got water from the roof onto roof lining. I need to check where water is coming in. I have sealed antenna last year, but I'm guessing that where roof rails are, or where are connections for roof bars, water is coming i . I need to change roof lining. Around two weeks ago, I have started having issues with lock/unlocking on driver door. All other doors and boot are working fine with remote, only driver's door are not. I have checked wiring from car to the door(behind rubber protection) I didn't see any snapped wire. I suspect that solenoid on the door is faulty. I will try to fix that myself. Another issue emerged, there is a sound coming from either shaft or gearbox. It could be bearings in the gearbox or something with AC compressor. Its hard to pinpoint it, I manage to drive it for 1000km to the Greece. I will need to check that ASAP. Sound is mostly noticable in 1st, 2nd and maybe 3rd gear. Mostly on 1500-1750rpm. After which I dont hear it anymore. I have noticed that when AC compressor is working more(lower temperature settings) that gear change is not smooth. Like it is making noice when down and upshifting. Most of the time, gear change is smooth.

I have few updates. Driver door fixed itself, suddenly started working again. I have changed key battery since I couldn't lock and unlock. I thought it was a bigger problem, since I had issue with my door. But battery was only issue. Regarding water from the roof, I have checked that, pouring water, no water is getting inside. So, it was coming in the past trough roof antenna. I have sealed that some time ago, but roof lining deteriorated due to previous leaking.

Just to update on this topic. Since it was 5 years since timing belt, water pump, cooling fluid and other things were changed. I have done regular and full maintenance of the car. With rear suspension replacement, and transmission oil change as well. Transmission oil used was Total gear 8 75W80 For engine it is Total 5w30 Acea C2. Timing belt, water pump, other part and belt is Continental. Filters are Hengst, rear springs and shock absorbers are Kayaba, as in front. |

Today I have replaced trunk struts on my C4P and wife's Peugeot 107. Easy job, they are cheap, and difference is huge.

This year also started with some changes on my car. Beside regular service and oil/filters change. We had a bit work on EGS gearbox. Oil was leaking between gearbox and engine, and once the gearbox was down it was clear that gearbox was also loosing oil, there was only around 1 liter of oil left. Since mechanic need to open the gearbox at this point I told him to check bearings of 3 first gears since I heard them especially in the summer. They needed replacement, so with that he replaced rubber sealings in the gearbox, also on the crankshaft. Clutch plate was also worn out, and it can't be bought separate. So I took clutch plate with housing LUK, also clutch bearing hydraulic was almost worn out. So we replaced that as well, took LUK as well. Gearbox oil was changed, parts are the same as for manual gearbox. That is a good part of EGS. Now it feels like new car, I am doing all of this since i dont want to change the car. I love my 2.0hdi 100kw engine. Regarding engine oil, this time I used Shell Helix Ultra. Last time it was Total. |

have you taken it to a test center to see what amount of drag you get from each brake caliper when no pressure is applied its quick common that you dont get the full return from incorrectly installed (or sized) pads or the pistons are worn which mean they down spring back. To test this easily without going to a test center or lifting the car. Find a route about 2-3km(maybe highway) that requires NO use of brakes and drive it and coast to a stop if possible. Then use a infrared thermo meter or your finger to touch all four discs and see if the right front or right rear disc is warmer than the rest. If the brake is dragging then you will get this type of pull when you brake it actually would even out the drag and the car would brake in a stright line - which is what you see. Otherwise get it lifted up and turn all four wheel at a constant speed (use a drill) then see how many revs it take to stop each one - however this might be hampered by the differential which is not equal length on these cars, but you will feel and see large amounts of drag easily |
