Hi there, Recently I got a 2nd hand C4 from 2010 with an original RD45 I guess (BT logo, mp3 logo, hands free controls on the steering wheel, armrest usb port) BUT I still can't see the BT signal of the car (I tried ignition on, engine off of course) I tried pairing from both ends in vain. From the unit the 3 active menus (add, list and delete device) seem to be enabled but don't do any kind of action. A 4th dotted menu (scan for devices) can't be used. from my 2022 android phone end, I never suceeeded to have the CITROEN device (or any other name or MAC) listed. I even reset the phone BT, still no success. I also scanned with a simple OBDII tool, no faults there. And AFAIK BT is always compatible backwards. Is this a known issue? can the BT module be broken or faulty? can the unit be reset or checked? If unplugged, will the unit (which seems to to be the built-in one) ask for some sort of code (like VW does)? or it automatically detects the car VIN and works immediately? PS: I don't know if it's related, but I also plugged in a usb stick with mp3 tracks (armrest port), but the unit didn't detect anything. I tried to force using the source button, in vain. thanks folks ![]() |

If you remove the head unit, there's no issue refitting it - the unit is coded to your car's VIN. It comes out easily using standard DIN removal pins. You can check all the connections, especially the big quadlock, and read the exact model. A 2010 RD45 is getting old now but replacements, either another RD45 or branded aftermarket unit are straightforward to install. Use a Connects2 adaptor - avoid those on sale in Halfords (Autoleads?). The forum is full of advice and tips, e.g. - Click Here - |

You can buy multimedia that looks like a factory one from Aliexpress. It has basically everything, from bluetooth to maps and its not that costly. snaptube vidmate |
