Hi all, got an issue with my C4 1.6 exclusive, 2012 model. For history, it's run perfect for 2 years for me and only has 32k on the clock. In October I had a new windscreen fitted due to a large chip and then the problem began. After 1 use the car came up with an Engine fault on the dash. Plugged in the diags and got the following errors:

U1F41 - Absence of Communication with the Supplies Management and protection module

B1601 - Central Power Switch relay control fault.

After various checks I found a used fuse board that sits on the battery however this hasn't fixed the issue. I've completed the usual BSI resets etc and replaced the battery, still the same fault.

The reason I mention the windscreen swap is A) the timing of the fault fits, and b) the wire from my dashcam had been pulled out of the piggyback fuse holder in the glove compartment fuse board. I've checked fuses but all seem ok. I've also unplugged the modules on the mirror and fault is still there.

I wondered if anyone had any further advise? Is there a fuse that powers something of the BPGA module in the glove complartment fuseboard?

To add to this, I wondered if anyone had a wiring diagram from the plug under the PBGA unit onwards - I suspect an issue with this circuit somewhere and don't want to replace the module again uneccessarily. The car is driving perfect except for this error and everything works.

Have you tried the old battery off for 10 minutes?
Are the codes persistent or can the be cleared?

Do you know where the bsm and ecu moduels are loate?
Maybe try taking the battery pole of the battery after it sleeps, then try to remove the connectors on the bsm and engine ecu, and look for corrosion, if nothing found just plug them in again. I had a abs module on my Saab that could not be communicated with, i just removed the connector and put it back in and the problem was gone.

So moved on a little with this, but not much.

I'd replaced the BPGA board (Battery fuse box) with a slightly later unit - this should have been fully compatible but just be sure sourced an exact part code one. I have the same issue still so can safely rule out the Supplied Management and Protection system (as the BPGA is called in diagbox).

Two things that may help - the car does not go in to economy mode any more. I've been sat in it for an hour this morning and not gone to sleep. Relevant as this is controlled by the BPGA/BSI unit. Also when listing control boards in diagbox it gives a "Commnunication fault" in the listing, rather than "not present".

Any pointers would be appreciated! It seems the unit is not communicating effectively with the BSI hence no economy mode.
