As above, cant seem to find an answer to this and all the videos I've watched seem to say different sizes. Is there any way to find out apart from buying all the options?

Thanks

I used a pipe wrench / pliers
I broke one town, i think it was 50! I can go look as I bought a new one.
But the bolts were very tight on mine and rusted!

I just checked, i used a 1/2 " socket with a torx 50 to torque them down again.
Mine is a c4 Grand Picasso with 2.0 HDi engine, piloted 6speed manual and electrc hand brake.

thanks a lot for the replies. I've got a 50 from changing pads on a c4 a few years ago but this is a different car and videos all over are saying e12 or e14 needed as well as a TX55 (and some say TX45).

Ive ended up buying a set that includes both the e12 and e14 and then a seperate tx55 from halfords.

Job to be done tomorrow so I can guarantee that as soon as I take wheels off I will need a 45 as its the only one i wont have!

Thanks again for your replies.

Yeah it often is this retarded! But i used big pliers for pipes as us plumbers use, they were really tight and would not want to break my new torx bit either!

I ended up picking up a 45, had a 50, bought a whole set of e10-20 or something. And then ordered a 55 off halfords for delivery today. Got the tyre off and brakes off. And its the 55 i need and DHL have cancelled the delivery.... Brilliant!

I am panicking now as i cant get the piston wound back in. Tried all directions i can think of with the windback tool and both the tools as well. Fluid reservoir is open.

Any tricks to this that you can think of??

Never panic.
Did you notice the rubber boot twisting?
If so try spraying with WD-40 or equavalent, i even think they don't even rotate the same way!
I usually push them back a little with a c clamp. Then i took the calibers off the car, and rotated them out by screwing, then the complicated part starts, there is some clips inside and you can remove the auto tighter and handbrake push mechanism, i just cleaned the [%*^#@!] out if it, as is was near black oil inside, then greased everything up with the special grease for brake calibrs. New rubber and it went back together much easyer than out.
All i used to twist the piston was long nosed pliers and water pump knipex wrench.
The boots was very bad and rustet together with the caliber. Aluminum, steel, saltwater is a [%*^#@!] combination.
It really don't take much force to screw the piston out and later in, no air use to pump piston out!!
Also if you want to rebuild, i used a chisel and heat to remove the bolt on the lever arm, it was very tight too, and after rebuilt i used a 6 edge bolt instead.
