My ABS light kept coming on intermittently, first finding the O/S front outer CV boot was failing/leaking grease over the sensor, hindering it operation.

Did get this repaired, then @1yr later the same problem occurred on the N/S CV boot. Whilst in this area the lower ball joints and track rod ends was replaced. Liberally applying brake cleaner to remove the spilled grease, but unfortunately now the ABS light is staying on.

When starting the car and being stationary, the system is reset at start but very shortly after the ABS light comes on. Have looked/checked that the brake lights are working.

Friend did advise me to get the vehicle scanned for codes, but at present I don't have any Lexia or other type device. Any help appreciated

I think i just read one on here who had suspension work done and they had bend the abs sensor bracket so it was to far from ring.

If this is not the case i think it need a scan tool too.

So I acquired a reader, which gave two codes

C1321 Front LH Wheel speed sensor Signal fault.
C1326 Rear LH Wheel speed sensor Signal fault.

Not sure what to think, with left side going down. Any hints or tips welcome

Can you do a Livestream to see if the sensors give any reading?

Cheers Farmerguy

This is all pretty new to me, with new device in hand.

So I managed to get it to read some live data, it was giving speeds for all points, except for the front LH.

If reading 0 is this confirming that it is the sensor that has failed?

Have ordered the 2 which listed as failed.

It could be that the magnetic ring is dirty and it needs cleaning.

Yeah either 0 or like 999km/h must be indicator that it don't work. That is how i understand it also.
But why a code on one that works? Is the code permanent or not present when you read the code, the one who dont measure should be permanent code as it must be dead.

Yeah the abs ring can be bad, also the french cars holders for abs censors are often a joke, thin metal that rust quick, the distance need to be correct too.

Did liberally clean these areas with a brake cleaner spray.

Fitted 2 new sensors, both installed looked like the originals, tricky rusty allen key. Still get ABS light on:(

Have got a mobile ABS dude coming in the week.

Something has always gnawed at me is the engine leaking from the top. This is common and can cause problems for the ABS unit?

Stay blessed people, we only got 1 shot

Hmm that was sad
Don't know if maybe there is a corroded pin on the abs module, i should be just behind the left front wheel. Is very susceptible to water and road dirt.
Have you followed the wires to the abs? Might have a Short to ground.

Check if you get a water inside engine bay. On top of the battery are fuses which can easily get water. I had to fix mine plastic between windshield and engine, better than Citroen did. No more water leak.

Will investigate these things. Was on standby until ABS Guy came out.

His tests gave same result as mine, think he said the rear is probably at fault, intermittent, or the likes (please see pics), but advised me to get oem sensors to be sure, if he has to return. No fix, no fee, nice guy/deal.

Ordered 2 new sensors from the link on here, to get discount.
