Hi everyone. Quick question a Citroen C4 MK2 1.6 exclusive auto.....a weird thing occurred . Car turned on . The auto shifter worked but would go into drive or reverse just staying in neutral. Restarted the multiple times then worked. Any ideas what's the cause.

Which gearbox do you have?

If it's a proper autobox then it may be low on fluid. If it's the semi auto one then it's probably a fault in the control system.

Hi mate it's 1.6 . Not sure if it's a semi auto. It's got the flappy paddles on behind the steering wheel

When you move gear selector to A or R, do you get gearbox error?

That's very strange. I would change gear selector since they usually failed most. That one seems dead ti me. Would be best if you could find a used one, same as yours and just test it
