Hi guys,

First post, so please be genital with me. I have a 56 plate Picasso Exclusive Plus, 1.6 blue Eat, with 24k on the clock. Only had the car a week and this fault has popped up!

Has anyone got any info on this error message?

“Emissions control additive range greater than 1500 miles”

Engine fault: Have vehicle repaired!

Any help is appreciated.

Probably the EOLYS fluid getting low.

If it is, then needs a new pouch and fluid counter reset.

Assuming there is no fault with the EOLYS system, it is unlikely to be that. EOLYS should last 80K miles. Our C3 did 126K on the original EOLYS.
It is far more likely to be Adblue, as this certainly gives warnings from ~1500 miles remaining. This only lasts about 11K miles, and is a simple top-up.10L Adblue is only just over £10. Just put the lot in. I usually bought 2 and filled up. The filler is either under the boot floor or beside the diesel filler. Just don't put it in the diesel tank! The system should automatically reset itself.

Adblue is full and the car has just completed 24k.

the emissions greater than 1500 is the standard message I get when i push the spanner button and adblue is ok so it might be nothing to do with that.

Engine fault is the standard cover all message so could be anything even a generic code reader should help narrow it down a bit. is the car performing normally?

I thought adblue warning had "adblue" in the message.

And will depend on fill up style, I have a friend that does less than 20 miles a day for work, and he only puts enough fuel in for a week. Not a citroen (it's an audi), but that would 7 times more opening the fuel cap than I do. And as I understand it, the eolys is based on fuel cap opening.

Keep an eye on any warnings you get. If it gived progressively lower figures and if it does mention Adblue, if the tank is full, then there is potentially an issue with either the Adblue tank or an exhaust sensor playing up.

On mine it just says Emissions control additive range greater than 1500 miles until it gets low then starts a countdown and lights the urea warning light for adblue.

Mine is at 100K miles and the eloys has not flagged up anything but I always fill up a full tank. mine has been on a service contract with citroen since I got it so next service I will ask if they check the eloys fluid.
