C4 Picasso 1.6HDI ETG6 2014 drops to tickover after pulling away. When starting from cold, car starts ok with normal throttle, but after driving about 30 yards engine drops to tickover with no throttle. After about 20 seconds will then pick up and drives as normal. If I shut off straight away and restart car pulls away as normal with no problem, and is fine for rest of day, unless left for long period. I have replaced the throttle pedal but made no difference. Car has only done 35K Cheap code reader shows no codes. What could cause this, engine or ETG6 gear box fault? This has been happening the past 6 mths, may drive fine for days, then may do it every day for a time, so intermitent, but dangerous. |

Do you drive only short journeys? It might be the EGR valve getting stuck which is a known issue with diesel cars. That valve soots up if the car is not given a good run now and again. When it happened to my car, I gave it a 30 minute run on the motorway and it cleared the problem. |
