Taken from a different forum, after discussion about an MOT failure. It appears that many people, including me, think that an MOT failure with an unexpired existing MOT means that the car can't be driven away and used until the original MOT expires. According to the Gov.uk website it is legal to drive your car as long as no dangerous faults are listed. You may have to click on the picture below to read it or go to - Click Here - ![]() |

Looks like they were wrong then! How old were the cars. Reversing lights are not, as far as I can tell from the Gov website, testable on pre 2009 cars, and it would be classed as a major, not serious fault. |

Parks in East Kilbride are one of the worst, most useless garages around, the company use them as it's the closest Nissan. They are one of the multi franchise dealerships, I went in looking for the poppers that hold the wheelarch trim on for the juke since a couple broke taking off the bumper. I tried to describe it to the women (that know nothing about cars) behind the parts counter. No idea what I was talking about. There was new juke sitting behind me, so I went and pointed to the part I wanted, and they asked me what that part was called so they could look for it on the system. I was spoiled by having vauxhalls for many years, and the old woman at the parts counter vauxhall garage was grumpy, but she knew everything about the older vauxhalls, usually had the common part numbers off the top of her head. Even better when she saw the recommended price and was like I'm not charging that price, here's a better discounted price. I miss the old days when car dealerships knew about the cars and not a fashion showroom. |
