Hello, new here but looking for advice, just purchased a used C4 1.6 SX and it's taking getting to 30mph and 7k rpm before the auto changes to second gear. the garage has told me it's OK and normal for the car. I'm dubious about that. but it is my first car and only car I've driven since lessons. thank you for any advice given.

It means he is talking absolute rubbish. Do you have a warranty?

What happens if you control the changes manually?

yes I have warranty I knew it was wrong but not really knowing anything about cars I was just wanting some facts to go back with so I can be armed. not tried manual mode never done any manual before only passed the test just over 2wk ago. and never drove before lessons.

There's something wrong. With a light throttle, it should change up at half those revs or less.

Does it have a sports mode, I know the vauxhall autos would pretty much wait until the redline in sports mode.
