Hi, buying a C4 Picasso 2007 with intermittent gearbox fault, tried searching to see how far I can tow a C4 1.6HDi with EGS gearbox fault with no real joy. Does it come into same scenario as fully auto and no towing any distance , or can it be treated like a manual and tow as far as i like,(never owned egs car before)
Hoping to drive it home without fault, but if fault occurs and doesnt reset by restarting or clearing fault, was hoping i could tow it home,
thanks

no wheel locking nut socket with car, hammered on 17mm socket on and got all 4 off fairly quick.

I have tried to get into gearbox ecu to recalibrate the egs had pdf instrucions ready,
Cannot get ecu's up in lexia , just : fault logs, bsi, and something else(terrible memory)
Have used lexia in past with xsara picasso's and othe pug/citroen models
but it just wont hook up with this c4 picasso anything like it has with the other cars,
I am totally computer illiterate, i bought my computer with diagbox installed second hand to just plug and play, the computer is just for diagbox alone.
is there any disc i could buy that would auto install any updates to get it working ??
Failing that ,anyone in thanet with diagbox who could help??

Have just put car up on stands, all looks clean and tidy underneath, going to change front discs and pads and book it in for mot...

I Will take you up on that, I am in westgate about 15 mins from reculver, often thought about fishing there.
Will try and get specs on my lexia and post them here to see if disc is likely to work, much appreciated.

Hi Vincent, I'll be down at Reculver towers tomorrow afternoon (Monday) probably about 5-6pm, no rush to get there as I'll be down there fishing until Tuesday evening maybe Wednesday. I'll send you a PM with my phone number and vehicle details.

When i picked up car from mot test center, handbrake switch was lopsided and not operating correctly, bought a new switch off ebay for just over a tenner, fitted it and all works fine,
however when first fitted and pressed downwards the switch moved downwards when pressed, the 2 locking tabs that seat the switch weren't holding the switch in place securely,
solved it by cutting 2x 20mm lengths off mcdonalds wooden coffee stirrers and pushing them under the 2 release tabs, holds in place securely now,

Met up with GPGEORGE and got disc, he advised me to use diagbox to do egs clutch reset,(i thought i had to use lexia)
So just been out and used diagbox
followed instructions of another post

Repair
Gearbox
Pack reparation
Replacement parts
Gearbox programming
did it easily, didnt bother with engine warm up and rest of driving reset.
No more clutch judder in 1st !well pleased,,,,
car 100% better
thanks again
