I had the unit upgraded by magpie auto solutions { with thanks to a forum member for passing details over} and everything was fine for the few occasions i used sat nav etc .... however on a longer journey over the weekend the sat nav seemed to go faulty showing the cursor arrow nowhere near the roadway ... then the unit itself was switching itself off every about 90 secs .... this went on for the next 50 miles or so and when the unit switched back on the sat nav was showing the original location where the fault started ..... ie around 50 miles behind in time .... but this switching itself off sounds to me like the unit is failing ?

any help would be great ... i have to get back to magpie to get a diagnosis but am hoping it may be something simple as its a 3 hour round trip to get back there

There have been many issues with screens, almost exclusively 2016 cars. Although this may not be the same issue, the problem was thought to be associated with a particular software version and the use of BBC stations on DAB. If you tune away from BBC, it may stop this issue but will not cure it. At least it may point you in the right direction.

R5 can be weird. Often fades away as driving along but the next day at the same place it's fine.
