Hi there,
My 63-plate Pic is due a service. It's a 1.6 diesel and done 75,000 miles.
We drive about 12-14,000 miles a year (normally, when not in lockdown!)

I'm trying to decypher what needs doing this time.

Do the following sound like the things I need doing in addition to the regular:
Check engine coolant : 80,000
Check particle filter additive level : from 64,000
Replace the ancillary drive belt : 6 years or 80,000

I'm guessing engine coolant is being checked every service now as over 4 years old.
I don't believe the ancillary belt has been changed before - I'm sure I would have noticed the charge!

I've not had any messages about the particulate filter - do all diesels have this ?

Thanks,
Matt

Yes, all recent Citroen diesels have these. Although it says to check the level, I don't know how practical it is. The additive should last in excess of 80,000 miles, and may well last a lot longer if you run your fuel fair;y low before refilling. Our C3 has done over 124,000 miles on the original pouch.

Run the fuel right down and then fill up. Less Eolys is used and so lasts longer. Eolys is dispensed when the fuel cap is opened.

In excess of 100K miles is common before a refill/new bagful is needed

Thanks both.
Got a quote for £268 for the full service (inc oil/air/pollen/fuel filters).
The belt replacement incl. labour is £98 on top of that.

Does the £98 include a new water pump?

That is the alternator and aircon belt replacement, not the timing belt.

Ah yes I see now looking back at the original post. At the mileage I thought we were talking timing belt. (thought it was a bit cheap) Sorry.

When the dealer hooks up the diagnostic software it will say how much Eolys fluid has been used - in the case of my old C4 with 135k it showed only 40% of the fluid had been used at that stage
