Well I have finally decided to leave the Citroen fold and trade in my C4P for a new Peugeot 3008, bought through a broker and due to be available at the end of October. I have owned 6 Citroens and been happy with them all having had no serious problems with any of them, but it is now time for a change as the C4P is no longer and the GC4P is a bit too big. I looked at the C5 Aircross but not too keen on the exterior and definitely didn’t like the interior. I have enjoyed being part of the forum and will still be looking in regularly, thanks to you all. |

Ha ha. I’ve had two of the new Peugeot 3008's - both GT models. First was the EAT6 and the second was an EAT8. Great choice - which engine and model? I’ve just traded mine in for a new 70 plate Range Rover Evoque First Edition petrol. Collected that on the 1st September. Not because I was unhappy at all, just fancied a change and a move away from diesel for the first time in over 18 years. I’d go as far to say that the EAT8 is on par with the 9 speed auto I have now. I’ve had French cars for years and still love them. That’s why I continue to still stay active on C4owners, C6owners and the main Peugeot forum. It’s nice to get a proper glovebox now though! |

Hi bluehdi, I know you from this forum and noticed you presence on the 3008 forum, which I have joined. I have ordered an Allure 1.2 Puretech with EAT8 gearbox in Cumulus Grey, it has all the “toys” I need. LED headlights would have been nice, but not as an £850 option. I did look at the GT Line but didn’t much like the dark grey headliner and it didn’t really offer anything extra that I really needed. I’m already accustomed to the 1.2 engine and EAT6 as I have them in my current C4P. Just left to see what the Pugeot dealer network is like....did you have service contract on your cars, if so , how much and are they worth it? Thanks for your offer of help, I may well be in touch. |

Great choice. I went with my friend to collect his new C4GP 1.2 manual and drove it. Very impressive. You'll love the 8 speed as its a bit smoother and the start/stop kicks in at a low speed, rather than at a complete stop. Peugeot dealer network sadly is very similar to Citroen. Find a good service centre and try and hang onto them! I negotiated for free (I'm a real haggler for a deal) a 3 year Peugeot Optiway service plan on both the GT's I had. Dealers will insist you take out their Emac versions (or similar). but I insisted on the Optiway plan, because it can be refunded if not used and in particular you can take the car to any UK Peugeot dealer. You can't with the Emac plans. In fact I'm awaiting a refund on my plan at the moment, as the last GT only had one service out of the three. Cost of the Optiway service plan was £656.60 for the first three services. Dealers will often deny knowledge of the official plan, so you do have to do some digging. |

I'll update a bit more about the adventure of the Range Rover Evoque, but fair to say leaving the PSA group hasn't been without its issues. So much so, the issue is now with the Financial Ombudsman. Absolutely dreadful trying to get almost £500 back from Peugeot UK, which was what I was told I was due as a refund for my official 3 year Optiway service plan. Only one service was carried out on my 3008, so the remainder of the money was due back to me. When I raised a complaint, they offered £50 goodwill because of the lack of any movement. After they then closed the complaint and still hadn't returned my money, I gave up trying to get anywhere with PSA Finance and the combined useless Citroen/Peugeot 'Customer Services' team as well. Anyway, once the FO were involved, and I told PSA Finance the complaint reference number, suddenly the money appeared in my account! I will still pursue the complaint however, because of the awful way this was handled. It seems an awful way to treat customers, who will always be potential customers again. |

I continue to read C4owners every day (and where I can participate), even though my 2014 Grand C4 Picasso went to be replaced by the first new shape Peugeot 3008 GT back in 2017, and then a second one in 2018. It is refreshing going back to petrol rather than diesel. Certainly quieter when starting up and cleaner on the hands when I fill up with fuel! I'd looked at the DS7, which are lovely, but grip control (not available from launch anyway), is not really a substitute for the full 4WD experience. Wading depth of the Evoque is 600mm! The 9 speed auto box is good, but I'd say not as good as the French EAT8 'box. Having a head up display is brilliant, along with the remote climate, which allows me to start the car up whilst locked and alarmed and to pre-heat/cool. The app works better than the MyCitroen/MyPeugeot app, as it fully interacts with the SIM equipped car. Since the 2014 C4GP and for at least ten years, I've always had diesel cars. MPG isn't brilliant of course, but then this was never my ultimate aim when changing away from the PSA group. |

Sorry to hear of your trouble with PSA Customer service. Before delivery of my new Peugeot 3008 I purchased 3 years speed camera alerts fo the TomTom nav, I received an email to say that it was activated in the car on 16 Nov (at the PDI inspection I presume) 4 days before the car was registered and delivered to me on the 20th Nov. So far I have been unable to get it to show camera locations, even after several attempts at resetting the system. Emails are (slowly) going back and forth to Customer Services. | ||||
