Hi, I'm new here. I am looking to buy a C4 Picasso 2016 with 38000 miles. 1.6 Diesel 120.

Can someone give me a few hard truths regarding any major faults to be wary of in the coming months//years.

I like the car and it is very clean and well maintained but I know certain cars have particular problems down the road so any information would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Jenna.

Hello Jenna.
I've just bought a C4 Picasso 1.6 HDI 2014 Exclusive so just learning but here's a few things I've picked up. The past model semi auto box model has had problems not sure if it's fully sorted inflated models but I wouldn't risk it I've gone for manual 6 speed which is great.
For good engine and turbo life regular oil changes with correct oil spec are essential, spec is low ash oil C2 or C1 spec (not C3). So service history important . I plan to change oil and filter every 10k miles ie well ahead of official service timings as I hope to keep the car for many years . All fancy 17 inch alloy wheels on mine have serious oxidation at edges so bad that two need changing really ( but was priced accordingly) . Other than that the car is great fully recommend
There is a thread somewhere about what to look out for . Hope this helps. John

Certainly there are a lot of posts about pre facelift ~2010 EGS boxes. There don't seem to be too many about later ETG boxes (Like EGS but improved). Also, the EGS/ETG option was dropped from the 2.0HDi, as the maximum torque of the engine was too great for the gearboxes. There seem to have been comparatively few ETG fitted 1.6HDis before the box was dropped when the 1.6 Blue HDi engine became available.

And thilst talking about issues which we see less of, there appear to be relatively few posts about failed turbos sing the new lubrication system was fitted, coinciding with the 1.6HDi service interval changing from 12,500 miles or 2 years to 16,000 miles or 1 year.
