Cruise Control Judder

 I've seen a post on another Citroen forum about adaptive cruise control. This concerns the later type which activated the brakes, rather than like mine which just cuts the fuel. My question is, when the brakes apply, are they smooth or do they judder like the ABS system when you ht the brakes in an emergency?

 I know the Nissan and Mercedes are smooth when they apply the brakes under cruise control, would dread to think of the ABS kicking in when you start approach a car. Though the Nissan does have the whole crash prevention thing, so probably would get them to point of ABS if pushed.

Even ESP systems use the brakes to stabilise the cars, it must be finely controlled rather than off-on

 Not sure on the C4P but our Passat brakes - it is always smooth but would activate the ABS if it needed to brake hard for some reason.
