I bought a 2007 Picasso 1.6hdi with 133k miles on it. The seller said he thought the timing belt had been changed at 120k. There is no service book. I took top casing off belt and writing is clear on belt, all the numbers are readable easily. A mechanic friend says that it must have been changed as a belt with 133k on it would not have clear writing. Has anyone else experience of this? Thanks

If you’re not sure, change it. Changing belt, tensioner sand water pump is far cheaper than a new engine.
