Hi, I am thinking of buying a C4 Grand Picasso 2015 or newer in the Exclusive or Exclusive+ trim.

I have seen a couple of car adverts for the same trim level. They both say 12 inch HD panoramic screen. Looking at the photos, one has a colour looking screen but the other has a white screen with the speedo in the middle and it looks like the warning indicators are in a separate strip at the bottom.

Are they the same but just a different theme or was the colour screen an extra option?

I thought they would all be the colour screens?

Doing a bit more digging, it looks like it has the lcd screen. It is a 15 plate so could it be the 2014 Exclusive+ spec with an lcd screen?

Might be easier if I post a link.

The photo above isn't an Exclusive+ vehicle.

The tell tale is the all fabric interior, rather than the half leather/fabric.

I'd say its a VTR+ spec.

I can look up the build date and let you know

Should have bigger wheels, Exclusive + should be Pythons. There are no 'arches' from front to rear. The car is about as low spec as you can get. At 15 reg, as far as I know, there were no Blue HDi 1.6s. Steer well clear of this!

It was factory produced on the 2nd July 2015, with it being registered new for warranty/registration on the the 29th July 2015.

Its definitely a VTR+ so they're rather overselling its model!

If you need the detailed price guide from that period, just let me know.

Servicebox does however list it as a BlueHDi 1.6 EAT6 auto, which matches with availability of that engine in the June/July 2015 UK Price Guides.

The June 2015 UK price guide is the first one showing the VTR+ with the BlueHDi engine being available. Prior to that (May 2015) it shows only the ETG gearbox and the older 115bhp engine on the VTR+.

I distinctly remember how confusing it was at this time, as the new engines started slowly appearing across the range!

Thanks for the detective work. I thought it was a bit odd. The spec didn't seem to match the interior.

I will be in the market for a 2015/2016 Exclusive+ BlueHdi automatic C4 Grand Picasso in the coming months so I should make sure it has Python 18" wheels, SatNav, half leather interior, colour 12 inch screen, BlueHdi?

Is there anything else that would be obvious in the photos?

Did all Exclusive+ models from 2015 have the panoramic sun roof?

The Exclusive has the colour screen and arches. I can't remember which wheels they have as it differed between Exclusive and Exclusive +, and also differed between 1.6 and 2.0HDi. Thinking about it, I'm not sure that the 1.6HDi Exclusive + has Pythons.

There as several differences between he Exclusiv and the Exclusive +. The latter has the panoramic roof and power tailgate, but some of the + standard items were available as options on an Exclusive. There is no difference in badging to help, they are all just marked Exclusive, and there is no badging for engine size. It should have a Blue HDi badge on the boot.

OK. Thanks for the Info. I'll update my notes.

When you say the arches? Is there a slight difference in body shape?

Also, is there any way to tell under the bonnet the difference in engine sizes? I would probably be looking at the 1.6 or is the 2.0 the better diesel to go for?

The 'arches' are the grey/silver bars which go from the front corner of the windscreen, along above the doors and down behind the rear row windows. They are used as longitudinal roof bars to attach transverse bars for fitting roof boxes. There are no bars like this on the 5 seat version at any trim level, and they are fitted to higher spec Grande 7 seaters. They are not fitted to some lower spec cars, and such cars look odd and incomplete. Have a look at some photos of Grandes and you will see what I mean.

There is probably no easy way to tell a 2.0HDi from a 1.6 HDi. I've looked at my engine and it just says E HDi. I have always had 2.0 HDis, and at one time there were issues with 1.6HDis having turbo issues. This was sorted before 2015, so there should be no issue with a recent one. Prior to modification the 1.6 HDi service interval was 12,500 miles but modified versions are 15,000 or 16,000 (can't remember which).

If you do find a Blue HDi, do not purchase it if it is showing any Adblue warnings.

All Exclusive + models have a panoramic roof

You can tell from the outside if it’s a 1.6 or 2.0; the 1.6 got 17” wheels (Balkal or something like that) and the 2.0 got 18” Pythons - in theory somebody could swap them onto a 1.6 but you could never get them fitted from the factory so the chances are limited of this happening

Appreciate it’s a bigger car but I sold a 1.6 DS4 for a 2.0 DS4 and I preferred the smaller engine; sweeter, lighter controls and it didn’t cook it’s head gasket in France!

Thanks for the tips.

Does the Adblue light on mean that the sensor could be faulty?
