Hi, new here and looking for some advice on what has caused carbon deposits to build up in the cylinder head and lead to loss of power and shuddering by the engine on my 2016 1.6 petrol automatic C4 Picasso. According to the extended warranty people, the cost of cleaning the cylinder head is not covered under the insurance but the dealership aren’t being very helpful with telling me what has caused it. If anyone has experienced the same or similar problems I’d be very grateful it you could let me know how you resolved them. Thank you | ||

Carbon build up isn't so common these days. Better fuel, engine management, etc helps it run better. How many miles on it? What's your driving pattern? lots of very short journeys? or 500 miles a week? You do get companies that offer that, like terraclean, I'm dubious on the benefits. If it was that bad that it affected the running, the I'd take the head off and see for myself. A bit of carbon does help as some will know that a completely reconditioned head runs better after some miles since the carbon helps seal it. |
