Hello

First time posting, had the car for a year. Driving along today and these two messages popped up on the centre display along with two orange warning lights in the fuel gauge:

ESP/ASR system fault
ABS system fault

Later on, after restarting the car I got this message along with the other two:

Anti roll-back system fault

Also, the cruise control won't engage now but there are no error messages for that.

Anybody have any experiece of this or know the usual reason?

Thanks

UPDATE
Just back from the gargage. I went to a local independant Citroen 'specialist'. Firstly they said it was an ABS speed sensor on the rear passenger side, which they replaced for £75. I got in the car and started it up and all the warning messages came on just as before; no difference. I went back in and they took another look at it and decided it was the ABS rings which seem to be part of the discs. Two new rear discs (they come as a pair apparently) and another £92 later the fault has finally gone and the car is working.

routemaster1, you were exactly right.

Sounds like an ABS fault, could be sensors or corroded ABS rings

My son's 57 plate C4 Picasso developed the same issue. Suggestions as to the cause were various - faulty fuse board in engine bay. It was replaced, the fault persisted. Bad battery was another suggestion, but not the cause. After much head scratching and research we changed the EGR valve - not a job that I would like to do again. Believe it or not, it cleared the fault and up to now has not returned. Don't rule it out, is my suggestion.

I have been getting Anti roll-back system fault pretty much constantly, multiple times a journey. Then once a week (and only once) get two other errors in quick succession, " ESP/ASR System fault have vehicle repaired" and then "Gearbox fault - have the vehicle repaired". Driving me mad!

Hi,
I have an ds4 2012 2.0 hdi, and I got the Anti-roll-back, esp fault, the problem is that I don’t get an error code and after driving for 10 minutes the error disappears.
Did anyone had the same problem? Also, does anyone know what it can be? Lose wire? Brake switch?
Thank you!

Antoroll bar fault sounds so weird as it's just a big torsion bar,

just got the same fault on my 2012 C4 1.6 petrol THP156

Had a few codes after scanning error codes get me U1209, U1213 in both the ECU and ABS systems, and rear ABS sensor fault
There's also the rear LH ABS fault but after changing it, the above still comes back

abit of an update

fault was actually rear LH ABS sensor connector, seems dealer sold me a knock-off unit from copycat country! It was replaced with a genuine one and all is good, no more codes after all codes erased.

The problem with the abs sensor was the pins were short on the sopycat unit whereas the genuine unit, usually a brand ATE, Continental, etc had thick solid pins and when the connector was plugged in, it had a solid click sound unlike the copy unit with didn't have and clicking sound

lesson learned, check parts before installing
