I recently had to go give another car a jump start . And in the dark, it's a nightmare to find an earth in the engine bay. The battery terminal is not accessible, and just about every visible part of the engine bay is plastic or painted.

So where to people hook up the negative lead on the DS4?

Ha, I never even noticed that bit before, looks plastic due to the dirt on it.
