On paper they look like the perfect solution, the everything everywhere for everybody tyre. Anyone running them on a B78, if so how happy (or not) are you? |

Best tyre ever. Sort, and very silent for a 225-45R18 tire. Just changed the fronts after 60.000km, and there were still some thread left, but had a puncture - so decided to get 2 new ones on. Only downside is the high price, but this tire works both in the blistering cold, and the southhern europe summers!

60,000 km on the fronts that's impressive Best I've ever managed was 17,000 miles / 27359 km

I'm interested in the same tires. This maybe a silly question, but are the tires designed to go a certain way around? For example - the V shape tread facing towards the front of the car. The reason I ask is because if not, then one side of the car will face to the front and the other side to the rear. Or can the tires be put on either way? Some tires have an inner wall and outer wall, so can't be tured around. |

If you fit them on the left hand side of the car, the wheels cannot be moved to the right hand side they will rotate the incorrect way (unless you have the tyres removed and turned) Some tyres are not symmetrical across the tread, but are symmetrical in both directions, so you can switch sides. If you had tyre which had to rotate in one direction and were asymmetric across the traed, then manufacturers would have to make two different mirror image tyres to fit to the nearside and offside |

Asymmetrical have "inside" and "outside" marked on them so you know what way they go on.

The inside and outside indicate to the tyre fitter which way to put them on the rim, directional (ones that can only go on one side of the car) will have an arrow indicating which direction they must rotate. Most tyres are going away from this feature.

Thanks all. Tyre wear on my Picasso is unusual compared with other heavy fwd cars I have owned. Rule of thumb with those was 25k fronts, 50k rears. The Pic is much more even, I have almost 40k (miles) on it now, original fronts still not down to wear bars but think I should change them soon, rears look to have 10k more in them but if I change to cross climates I really should do all 4 at once: don't want to look out of side window and see the back of the car overtaking the front in bad weather. Crossclimates look a bit expensive but c. £15 a corner more than Primacy so not really a consideration if I am keeping the car for another 3 or 4 years. I see Primacy 3 and 4 at similar prices, no idea what the difference is. Will think a bit more. 2 now 2 later Primacy or all 4 now cross climates.... |

Which size are you running? I have 225/45 R18 Pilot Sports, and I can only get ~22,000 miles out of the fronts. I didn't get much better out of the 17" ones on the previous two cars!

205/55 R17 95V on a 1.6 Blue Hdi Excl+ manual (the auto lookup on most sites tell me they are 18s but they really really are 17s.) A lot of my miles are fast but non-violent long trips on motorways and suchlike. |

The reviews of these are good, get good results all round. I saw one review that the tread comes at 6mm when new. Is that true, or just the way the thickness appears on these due to the way the tread is? |

I fitted Pirelli Cinturato Seal-Inside last November after the Primacy's on my car were almost at the legal limit with only 19'000 miles covered. Main reason for changing to these was the absence of a spare wheel and no confidence in the repair kit. Overall I'm very pleased, they perform well in all conditions and have a decent amount of tread when new so should last better than the OEM Michelin. |

I fitted Pirelli Cinturato Seal-Inside last November Do you have to feed the seals, what kind of fish? I bought my car pre-owned but bought a spacesaver spare and jack kit with it. Dealer went halves to close the deal. I visit lots of remote places and the thought of ruined trip because of tyre damage makes it worth it. I don't think even the best run flats can cope with serious damage like sidewall wrecked on a pothole. Maybe I'm just old and a pessimist. We get a lot fewer punctures now than we used to get with crossply tyres on my Hillman Hunter back in 67. |

The problem I find choosing which tyres to buy, is there is such a wide choice and while you can read about the pros and cons of each tyre I find tyre shops don't stock the ones you are considering or they only want to sell the ones they have in stock. . . I now have to decide what tyres I need within the next month or so. I am just looking good value (as we all do)

Find the tyres you want, not the ones they just have in stock. Use a website like Blackcircles.co.uk You choose the tyres you want to choose a local tyre fitting company to fit them within the next few days (you pick location and time). You pay online with your order, then just turn up at your appointment. That way you get exactly what you want and at very good internet prices too. |
