I have a 2007 C4 GP auto. Recently it seems to be jerky when going into 1st gear (all other auto changes are ok) Thing is it doesn't happen every time which is frustrating!
Garage I regularly use aren't up on auto bixes and reckon there's some adjustment that can be made to the clutch.

Thoughts?

Assuming it's EGS & not full auto, try a hard reset

Sounds as though it is an EGS car, not a traditional auto. What do you mean by jerky going into 1st gear? These boxes can be very jerky when approaching a junction at low speed. They don't seem to make up their mind whether to go in 2nd, and may change down to 1st with a jerk. Or are you referring to selecting 1st and moving away from stationary.

What you can do is to find an empty piece of road and floor the throttle a couple of times. This may improve things.

Sorry if I wasn't exact with the fault. As you pull away in 1st its as if the clutch is snatching at the plate so it doesn't go into gear straight away, I have to take my foot off the accelerator and reapply it.

Yes, it's an EGS.

Hi there, my first post on here, but this sounds exactly like mine, was there any conclusion as to the problem here?
