Hi all,

Can anyone tell me is there's a way to disable eco mode on my 2014 1.6 HDI Picasso? I know where to turn it off before I start my journey, but the next time I jump in the car to go somewhere, it's enabled itself again!

Many thanks.

Chris.

As far as I know you can only turn it off on a per trip basis, not permanently.

To get the wholly unrealistic test cycle results for CO2 and MPG, S&S has to work. Allowing the user to turn it off permanently would be the electronic version of letting them remove the dpf or replace the seat belts with string. The vehicle would not be operating as it was designed to.

I'm sure someone with a lexia could do it, but not the normal user.

You can only disable it for each turn on of the ignition.

As others have said, you cannot disable it. All cars (not just Citroens) with Stop Start automatically turns it after ignition. It's the manufacturer's way of keeping their emissions figures "accurate".

Mine is disabled permanently, but this is due to it having an issue and stalling on the restart.
After a couple of stalled restarts the ECO stays off permanently until I turn it back on. Even after turning engine on and off and few times.

One way of 'disabling' it is to keep your foot on the clutch (obviously only manual). Not good for the clutch releases system though, so perhaps not to be recommended.

Changing the 12v battery to a non AGM one will disable the s/s, or at least it did on my Pug 3008.

Also, you may be able to permanently disable it from the "Cheat" menu. Although I have read on another site that the codes only work on the Cactus, [b]I can't get them to work on my Picasso.
Hold the Music icon for a few seconds then enter
ECSAVE param1 [Switch ECO on/off (0 = OFF/ 1 = ON)]

Mine disabled when the auxiliary belt slipped (on its way to being shredded when the belt tensioner was failing).

If you could simulate that it may permanently go off.

Personally, when my stop start works (and it has for a couple of months now) I find it seamless in operation.

Mine is a manual gearbox which may account for it working without causing any problems. The engine restarts as I depress the ction!lutch and is ready to go as I select 1st gear.

Perfection!
