Hi just phoned up a local garage and they reckon the rear brakes on my 2013 mk2 have an integrated bearing housing on the rear disks. Can anyone confirm this, from what I can find online this doesn't seem to be the case and I've not got a decent trolley Jack to check myself, TIA

Yes, the disc has a bearing in it. Usually the new disc comes with a new bearing fitted. It's false economy and not worth the hassle of extracting the old bearing and fitting it to the new disc, and there is a risk of damaging the bearing.

The car has to be very secure when raised as several of the bolts will require huge torque to release.
