Supposedly it contains changes updates to the AndroidAuto headend, ready for the update to AndroidAuto from Google sometime in the summer.

Download from one of these links :

Will it work on the 2014 model?

I doubt it. 2014 was Smeg+, not connectnav. Use the top link above, type in your VIN and it will tell you.

I'm intrigued stoic, I've got connectnav and have the tom-tom icon, weather, fuel prices etc. but have nothing at all in the Connected Services. Is that right? I thought I read something in a brochure about apps, maybe hotel booking stuff like that? Can't say I'm massively bothered, but seems daft having a section that's empty and then updating the icon! Or am i getting confused with another empty section - i walk more miles than i drive nowadays so i'm lucky if i remember what the pedals do!

Thanks for posting @stoic.

Do you have to update the maps via citroen.co.uk/../map-updates 1st, then run the install tar file after?

Thanks

I think Connected services is simply for enabling the sharing of your driving data with the MyCitroen Android or Apple app. I've even written a Windows app to complement the MyCitroen app too. I wrote it for my students and is totally free, see below. It may have been planned to do more, however what you describe is what I have too.

You can do it in whatever order you like!

I updated succesfully. I suspect there's a whole new world behind those icons. Just like the wardrobe that leads to the land of Narnia.

How long does it take to update the maps. I successfully updated the firmware in about 35 mins but I have tried the maps several times and it keeps failing after about 20 mins getting very frustrated. Using this same usb.

Using a fast expensive USB3 memory stick, about 45 minutes.

The firmware took me about 20 minutes. So using your 35 minute time, I would say it should take you at least 1h10.

Perhaps invest in a faster memory stick?

Thanks stoic. I had a root around and found some old electronic handbooks i'd saved. One had this nav system than didn't seem to belong to the model - Multicity Connect iirc. That had apps like TripAdvisor. I also have a newer manual for connectednav and that does seem to imply the apps are on your phone once you've activated AndroidAuto.

This must have been what i was half remembering. There's probably a load of stuff that i don't know about that i'd try but sometimes life is too short to be bothered! I'm on my 2nd GC4P and still haven't dared use the self parking or bothered with the voice control!

Could it be possible for You to write also an Apple app for us Mac users?

A bit off topic but.....
5 Ways to Run Windows Software on a Mac
I wrote the Windows app as an example for my A Level students. I don't really have time to write different OS versions. Sorry.
