Hi guys hope you’re all well, haven’t had the need to be around much, which is a good thing

I need to replace the driver side rear wheel bearing. I have read all the information regarding “how to” but I’m left with a question.

The OEM parts in Australia are a ridiculous price, so I’m looking for the correct OEM part number. A call to my local Citroen people has been unsuccessful thus far as their online catalogue is not “working”.

I think it’s a 4249.34 but I’m not sure about the axle bearing size, as I see references to 25mm and 30mm.

Can anyone enlighten me? Cheers Deb

Your VIN is needed for accurate part identification.

However, the bearing usually comes pre-fitted in the rear brake disc as when removing, the bearing will come off with and inside the disc, and will be difficult to extract.

Thanks for your reply. I have read all the “How To” PDFs. As I said, the issue is which is the correct part. Is there somewhere in the Premium Resources where I can enter my VIN number and get the answer to my question ?

That part number is for the disc (see diagram below) which will include the bearing being a genuine Citroën spare. See my experiences here: - Click Here -
PM me your VIN and I'll have a look.

Note: You will need left handed re-wind tool for the RH/Driver's side piston.

- Click Here - for the address you require for Citroën parts &c. You may need a VAT number to register.

Thanks for the VIN.

This is your car. Looks like the bearing assembly is Part Number 3748.83

Hi John, thank you for your help. Looks like the complete unit is 4249.34 - fantastic These are approx 163GBP each in OZ, plus I have to freight them over from Sydney. Even with DHL courier from the UK, I’ll be saving over $200AU - and my mechanic has only quoted about $200AU to do the work, so it’s a massive saving for me - my Premium Sub comes up trumps again!

To be fair, this is the first non consumable problem I’ve had with my C4 - 13 years old and 150Km on the clock - I’m well happy with my car, cheers Deb

4249.34 is the brake disc (rotor) which includes the bearing already in place.

You really should fit new pads with a new disc, and do both sides as well.

Your brakes are Bosch.
