Today I have had the 2 offside wheels replaced under warranty due to coorosion. the wheels have not been kerbed or damaged in any way and felt smooth when you ran fingers over them dispite their appearance. The front wheel had 2 areas of corrosion on the rim and the rear 1area on the rim and corrosion on 1 of the spokes.

Dealer was excellent (BCC Citroen Bolton),inspected the wheels, no quibbling and booked the car in for today. Car was also washed, Vacuumed and the tyres blacked.

All mine have gone much the same. Raised the issue with the dealer, but was told that he didn't think corrosion was a warranty issue and if it was, it wouldn't apply to the extended warranty.

I'll have to investigate more.

Very interesting I have a similar problem with my wheels, I thought it was stone damaged will have a closer look today.

So what can be done to reify or repair the wheels? if its corrosion then it can only get worse

I just had a quick look on my facebook page as I did recall someone posting this last week . . . "I'm pleased to report that Citroen have been as good as their word and have replaced all four wheels on my C4 GP. 15,000 miles and 2 years & 10 months old. Corrosion covered under 3 year warranty."

Never had that problem on the 2CV or my Hillman Hunter .....

Yes, noticed mine (Jan 2016 so 3.5 years old) have a few bad bits of corrosion near the centres so definitely not kerbing. Filed it under 'oh well....' - I doubt it materially changes the trade in value, retail refurbishers charge 80 -100 per corner. All 4 would cost about the same as a month's depreciation if you bought a new one.

Always been a problem on cars with "diamond cut" alloys. Our previous DS4 Crossback had all-black wheels as standard. We declined to purchase our current pre-reg Cactus 2, until the the dealer changed the "Diamond Cut" Cross alloys to the all-black version.
What is strange, is that all wheels are produced in black, then the front is machined off to produce the "diamond cut", but Citroen charge an extra £100 when the black version is chosen as an option!

Took my car to my dealership who confirmed it is corrosion albeit small on all 4 wheels and also agreed can only get worse without some intervention. . a few hours later having contacted Citroen the dealer phoned me saying Citroen declined to offer any assistance regarding rectifying the problem but advised me to contact Citroen direct.
So Monday will contact Citroen and will take it from there

Having all four of my wheels replaced on the 27th. I need the front tyres replaced (not bad at 28000 and still on the originals), tried to get my dealer to dove tail the two tasks to be refused point blank. This means I'm now going to have my wheels changed, then arrange for the tyre fitter to come to my house to fit new front tyres possibly the next day. Citroen will be replacing the valves and rebalancing the wheel, then within very few miles the fitter will be doing exactly the same. What a waste of time and money.
