Just changed the thermostat on my 2012 C4 2.0HDi Exclusive, now the car will not start, error messages say engine electrical fault & engine fault and most of the lights come on on the dashboard. Has anyone else had this problem?

When changing the thermostat I left the battery off the car overnight if that makes any difference. Also nothing works in the car, electric windows etc. Tried a BSI reset and nothing, and my ODB2 port reader will not connect the ECU so I can read the fault codes properly.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I suggest you remove the clamps from the battery terminals and thoroughly clean the terminals, both parts, both +ve and -ve. Smear them with Vaseline and make sure everything is re-clamped tightly.
