Hi, help needed!

I've had the ABS/ ESP/parking brake issue for some weeks, but left until now to look into due to issues with blower.

I've bought a replacement switch from eBay (as per - Click Here - , but noticed a key difference: the replacement switch (bought as per the model details I entered) has a sprung pole, piston-like, whereas the original is fixed.

I don't know if this is why it doesn't work, however, is there an easy way to fix these switches once set so the spring is disabled? Was the original sprung to start with? have I been been sent the wrong component?
