Today I took the car to the service as on hot days I had "electrical fault, fix the car" message. When this happened, when closing\opening the car, the mirrors would not fold and the windows would not close\open from the key fob. They said I am late for the service. The service intervals were set by importer for 30,000 km, they decided to change it to 20,000 km without any notice for the costumers. After they serviced the car, they plugged it in to the computer to find a constant warning of some kind. Fortunately, the electrician changed and this one tries to find the root cause and not just reciting the error codes. He found a loose cable end crimp, fixed it and the warning gone. |

Service intervals in UK for 2.0HDi is 20,000 miles or 1 year. (actually a conversion from 30,000 km = 18,750 miles). 1.6HDis are 12,500 miles (20,000 km) or 1 year until the turbo oil feed was modified, when it became 16,000 miles (25,600 km, probably rounded down) or 1 year. What intervals do you have in Israel, and what does it say in your service book?

Israel would fall under the arduous conditions servicing schedule, it depends on the engine but the 1.6 ‘Prince’ was 30k km/ 2 years under normal servicing so it would be something like 20k km/ 12 months

the service manual say 30,000 km or 2 years while the service light goes on every 20,000 km. last service was 120,000 so the next one should have been 150,000 km. apparently, the importer changed it to 20,000 km " to match the European standard" as they said. I knew that the 30,000 km interval was to get an advantage over the rest of the manufacturers on the local market, my previous C4 (2L 143 hp) also had 30,000 km intervals (also the service light turned on every 20,000 km) probably changed due to warranty issues from Citroen. its 120 hp vti engine. what I am angry about is, nobody notified the owners about this change. though I am far out of warranty, its just a matter of principle. |
